HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE.

Hello makeup lovers,

We talked about how to know your skin type in the last post. Today we will learn how to care for our different skin types.
Normal Skin: this is usually the easiest skin type to care for. Those with this skin type can also have breakouts and skin blemishes like other skin types but once they use the right skin care products, their skin bounces back to its healthy glow. Care for your normal skin by using gentle cleansers, moisturizers and toning gels. Also use facial masks once a week.
Dry skin: People in this category require extra special care especially during dry seasons. Regular and effective cleansing is needed but the cleanser shouldn't be harsh in order not to worsen the dryness. Avoid washing and cleaning your face too many times as it strips the skin of essential oils and moisture. Avoid alcohol based toners that dry out the skin. Use creams that have vitamin E to give your dry skin new life. Massage with natural oils (coconut/olive).
Oily skin: proper cleansing is needed to prevent acne and infections. Cleansing clears your pores. Use oil control cleansers. For your weekly facials, use clay based masks that absorb excess oil from your skin.
Combination Skin: this is a bit difficult as you will have to choose products that suit both the dry parts and the greasy parts. But it is easier to get products specially made for people with combination Skin type. Antioxidant rich products are good for combination Skin types. If the greasiness is causing most of the problems you encounter, then light weight gels, lotions are better choices. Cleanse you face with gentle cleansers to avoid dryness and irritations. Use toners that have no alcohol or fragrances.
Sensitive skin: this skin type is challenging to care for mainly because it is very prone to irritation. Use products that are fragrance or perfume free. Avoid products with too many chemicals or preservatives. Avoid products with alcohol content as they dry out the skin and leave it more vulnerable to irritation. Avoid oil based makeup products. Use mild cleansers and water based moisturisers. After wash, always pay dry rather than rub dry to prevent your skin from irritation.

I hope these simple ways to care for your skin help you. Thanks for reading.
